About SBI SO

SBI SO will be conducted to select eligible candidates to the post of Specialist Officer in various branches of State Bank of India.  Candidates are required to apply online for the post of Specialist Officer. The Specialist Officer in SBI is recruited both on a regular and contract basis. Interested candidates can fill in the online application form for SBI SO Exam. SBI SO Job Profile

Basically, the role of a System Officer depends on the department where he is posted. Assistant Manager (AM) (Systems) provides technical help, runs different software jobs to compile data, generates reports, develops internal websites and other regular technical works. Some specific works to be carried out by an AM (Systems) are listed below :

  • Maintaining IT infrastructure of the bank
  • Coordinating with vendors for development, maintenance, procurement of software, hardware and other services
  • Monitoring of technical infrastructure and its maintenance like database, security etc.
  • Data mining and reporting for business units
  • Troubleshooting PC issues
  • Server maintenance
  • Managing the maintenance of ATM machines
  • Troubleshooting proprietary software issues.
  • Some basic tasks like installation, formatting, and troubleshooting windows

AM (Systems) also deal with queries raised by staff members regarding technical glitches. In a nutshell, we can say that AM (Systems) essentially deals with almost all the technical issues within the allotted region of his branch.

 

SBI SO 2018 Exam Pattern

SBI SO Exam Pattern (For Systems, CA and Engineering Officers)

The exam for the post of Systems, CA and Engineering Officers will be conducted in two parts. Candidates will have to attempt Question Paper 1 and Question Paper 2. Question paper 1 will be conducted for 90 minutes. Candidates will be asked to answer 120 questions from three sections namely, English Language, Reasoning Ability, Quantitative Aptitude. For the post of Law Officers, applicants will have to attempt 2 papers- Question Paper 1 and Question Paper 2. Question paper 1 comprising 50 questions from English Language while 70 questions from Reasoning Ability will be asked. Official Language Officers will be required to have proficiency in Hindi and English language along with the possession of some reasoning abilities. Based on these skills the exam will be conducted. Unlike other exams, candidates for this post are required to appear for 3 papers. Question Paper 1 shall be attempted within 90 minutes’ time. While Question Per 2 and Question Paper 3 will be conducted in 45 minutes for each paper. The details of each paper have been listed below:

Question Paper 3                          

The third question paper for the post of ‘Economist’ will be of descriptive nature. Candidates will be asked to write an essay on a topic related to Economics. The question paper will be of 50 marks. 45 Minutes will be provided to the candidates to solve the question paper.
