1. The Pradhan Mantri Mudra Yojana has been in effect for seven years.
◉ On April 8, 2022, the Pradhan Mantri Mudra Yojana (PMMY) will reach the end of its seven-year term.
◉ PM Modi introduced the scheme in 2015 to provide financial assistance of up to ten lakh rupees to non-corporate, non-farm small, or micro-enterprises.

2. Jharkhand celebrates the Sarhul Festival.
◉ Sarhul is a New Year’s event observed by tribal groups in the state of Jharkhand as part of the local Sarna religion.
◉ It is observed three days after the emergence of the new moon in the Hindu month of Chaitra. It’s also a time to mark the arrival of spring. The word “Sarhul” is associated with the worship of trees. It is a celebration dedicated to nature. In the year 2022, it will fall on Monday, April 4th.

3. China has successfully launched the Gaofen-3 03 Earth Observation satellite.
◉ On April 7, 2022, China successfully launched Gaofen-3 03, a new Earth observation satellite, from Jiuquan Satellite Launch Centre aboard a Long March-4C rocket.
◉ By building a network with the orbiting Gaofen-3 and Gaofen-3 02 satellites, the new satellite will become part of its land-sea radar satellite constellation.

4. IIT Bombay and IIT Delhi are among the top 100 universities in the world, according to the 12th QS World University Rankings by Subject 2022.
◉ The 12th edition of the QS World University Rankings by Subject 2022 was issued by Quacquarelli Symonds.
◉ The QS World University Rankings by Subject are published every year to assist prospective students in identifying the best universities in each subject area.

5. In FY22, India’s trade deficit increased by 88 percent to $192.41 billion.
◉ India’s trade imbalance increased 87.5 percent to USD 192.41 billion in 2021-22, compared to USD 102.63 billion the previous year, according to government data.
◉ Total exports climbed to USD 417.81 billion in the previous fiscal year, while imports increased to USD 610.22 billion, resulting in a USD 192.41 billion trade deficit.

6. In 2021-22, India’s agricultural exports will surpass $50 billion for the first time.
◉ Agricultural exports from India surpassed $50 billion for the first time in the financial year 2021-22 (FY22), representing a 20 percent rise.
◉ The Ministry of Commerce and Industry’s Directorate General of Commercial Intelligence and Statistics (DGCI&S) has issued preliminary numbers showing that agricultural exports increased by 19.92 percent to USD 50.21 billion in 2021-22.

7. The Reserve Bank of India has issued its Monetary Policy for 2022, with key rates remaining constant.
◉ Monetary Policy 2022 was announced by the six-member Indian Monetary Policy Committee, which is led by RBI Governor Shaktikanta Das. The rate is not altered by the committee.
◉ As a result of Russia’s invasion of Ukraine, the MPC committee kept the repo rate at 4% and the reverse repo rate at 3.35 percent unchanged. For the 11th time in a row, the MPC left the repo rate steady.

8. In Bengaluru, Infosys and Rolls-Royce opened the ‘Aerospace Engineering and Digital Innovation Centre.’
◉ Infosys and Rolls-Royce, a premier industrial technology business, have opened a combined “aerospace engineering and digital innovation center” in Bengaluru.
◉ This center was designed to deliver high-end R&D services to Rolls-engineering Royce’s and group business services from India, as well as advanced digital capabilities.

9. Amazon has reached a deal with three companies to launch Project Kuiper, a satellite broadband network.
◉ Arianespace, Blue Origin, and United Launch Alliance (ULA) have inked deals with Amazon to launch the bulk of satellites for Project Kuiper, which seeks to provide high-speed, low-latency internet to a wide spectrum of clients around the world.
◉ Over the course of five years, the business has completed 83 launches, making it one of the largest commercial launch vehicle procurements in history.

10. In 2023, India will host the Asian Junior U-20 Men and Women’s Fencing Championships, as well as the Cadet U-17 Boys and Girls Fencing Championships.
◉ The Asian Junior U-20 Men & Women and Cadet U-17 Boys & Girls Fencing Championships will be held in India in 2023, according to the Fencing Association of India.
◉ Ahmedabad, Gujarat, will host the championship. Rajiv Mehta, the Secretary-General, filed the bid.

11. In 2022, the Ministry of Sports will provide USD 72,124 to the UNESCO Fund for the Elimination of Doping in Sport.
◉ In 2022, the Indian Ministry of Youth Affairs and Sports contributed USD 72,124 to the UNESCO Fund for the Elimination of Doping in Sport.
◉ This is equal to twice the agreed-upon minimum value.
◉ The State Parties decided to contribute 1% of their respective nation’s normal budget to UNESCO for the Fund for the Elimination of Doping in Sport, as per the resolution of the 7COP held in Paris between September 29 and September 31, 2019.
