1. PM Kisan Samman Nidhi has launched the eighth instalment.
◉ The eighth instalment of Prime Minister Kisan Samman Nidhi was just released by Prime Minister Narendra Modi.
◉ The Indian government sends Rs 6,000 to small and marginal farmers’ accounts. This money is distributed in three instalments.
◉ Between April and June, the first instalment of Rs 2,000 is made.

2. Chhattisgarh was the first state to reinstate an ancient pension programme in order to give retired employees a guaranteed income.
◉ From April 1, 2022, the state will issue a Gazette notification to switch back to the Old Pension Scheme (OPS) from the National Pension Scheme (NPS).
◉ Rajasthan announced the restoration of OPS in its 2022-2023 budget in February 2022, but the state did not submit a Gazette notification.

3. The Department of Transportation has created the “GatiShakti Sanchar” portal for centralised RoW approvals.
◉ In keeping with the PM GatiShakti National Master Plan, Union Minister for Communications, Electronics and IT and Railways Ashwini Vaishnaw has established the “GatiShakti Sanchar” webpage for Centralised Right of Way (RoW) permissions.

4. The Indian coronavirus variety has been recognised as a “global variant of concern” by the WHO.
◉ A coronavirus variation discovered in India has been designated as a global “variant of concern” by the World Health Organization.
◉ B.1.617 is the name given to this variation. This type has already spread to over 30 nations, according to the World Health Organization.
◉ It is more contagious than other varieties. The “double mutant variant” is another name for this variety. The United Kingdom’s health authorities were the first to notice it.

5. Oli KP Sharma Nepal’s Prime Minister has been re-elected.
◉ President Bidhya Devi Bhandari of Nepal re-appointed KP Sharma Oli as Prime Minister of the country.
◉ On May 14, 2021, the President gave the oath of office to Oli. He now has 30 days to show that he has majority support in the House.

7. United Co-operative Bank’s licence has been revoked by the Reserve Bank of India (RBI) due to insufficient capital and regulatory non-compliance.

◉ The bank is situated in Bagnan, West Bengal.
◉ With effect from the close of business on May 13, 2021, the central bank has forbidden the co-operative lender from carrying out banking activities through an order dated May 10, 2021.

8. Digigold was launched by Airtel Payments Bank.
◉ “DigiGold,” a digital platform for users to invest in gold, has been established by Airtel Payments Bank. This was done in collaboration with SafeGold, a digital gold provider.
◉ Customers with an Airtel Payments Bank savings account can use the Airtel Thanks app to invest in 24K gold through DigiGold. Customers can now give DigiGold to family and friends who have an Airtel Payments Bank savings account.

◉ Senior government official As part of a senior-level bureaucratic restructuring, Nidhi Chibber has been named as the head of the Central Board of Secondary Education (CBSE).
◉ Chibber is the Additional Secretary, Ministry of Heavy Industries, and is a 1994 batch IAS officer from the Chhattisgarh cadre.

10. Biplab Tripura Chief Minister Biplab Kumar has resigned, and Manik Saha will take his place.

◉ Deb resigned after meeting with Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) President J.P. Nadda and Union Home Minister Amit Shah during a two-day visit to New Delhi.
◉ Deb made the statement after submitting his resignation at the Raj Bhavan in Agartala to Governor S.N. Arya. Assembly elections are scheduled for 2023 in the state.

◉ Anna Qabale Duba reportedly won the Aster Guardians Global Nursing Award over 24,000 other nominees.

12. South Korea has joined NATO’s cyber defence organisation as the first Asian member.
◉ South Korea is the first Asian country to join the Cooperative Cyber Defence Centre of Excellence of the North Atlantic Treaty Organization (NATO CCDCOE).
◉ The National Intelligence Service (NIS) of South Korea has joined NATO’s Cooperative Cyber Defence Centre of Excellence as a contributing participant.

13. For the Gaganyaan mission, ISRO successfully tested the human-rated HS200 solid rocket booster.
◉ At the Satish Dhawan Space Centre in Sriharikota, Andhra Pradesh, the Indian Space Research Organisation (ISRO) successfully completed the static test of the human-rated solid rocket booster (HS200) for Gaganyaan.
◉ The booster engine is part of the GSLV Mk III rocket, which will launch Indian astronauts into space.

◉ In the Italian Cup (Coppa Italia 2021–22), Inter Milan defeated Juventus 4-2 in extra time. After Hakan Alhanoglu converted a contentious late penalty, Ivan Perisic scored twice in extra time.
◉ Inter’s other goal came from Nicol Barella. The Stadio Olimpico in Rome, Italy hosted the Italian Cup final soccer match between Juventus and Inter Milan.
