1. With a budget of Rs 1,364.88 crores, the Centre has approved the continuance of the IVFRT visa scheme until March 2026.
- The Centre has authorised the extension of the Immigration Visa Foreigners Registration Tracking (IVFRT) Scheme until March 31, 2026, for a five-year term beginning April 1, 2021, with a budget of Rs 1,364.88 crores.
- “Immigration, Visa and Foreigners Registration and Tracking (IVFRT)” has been identified as one of the MMPs to be done by the Ministry of Home Affairs under the National e-Governance Plan in order to modernise and update the Immigration services (NeGP).
2. India’s first e-waste eco-park has been approved by the Delhi Cabinet.
- The Delhi Cabinet has given its approval for India’s first ‘electronic-waste eco-park.’ It has also agreed to develop a ‘Delhi Film Policy 2022’ as part of a tourism push.
- A 20-acre eco-friendly park for electronic garbage will be created in Delhi. Every year, Delhi discards about 2 lakh tonnes of e-waste. E-waste will be recycled, refurbished, and dismantled in a scientific and safe manner at this eco-park.
3. Sindhudurg will host an MSME Technology Centre with a budget of Rs 200 crores.
- Narayan Rane, the Union Minister for Micro, Small and Medium Enterprises (MSME), has announced the development of an MSME-Technology Centre in Sindhudurg, Maharashtra, with a budget of Rs 200 crore.
- The MSME-Technology Centre will provide cutting-edge technology, incubation, and consulting services to the sector, particularly MSMEs, in order to boost their competitiveness, as well as skilling services for the area’s employed and jobless young.

4. India and Nepal are forming a joint task group to develop hydropower projects.
- India and Nepal agreed to form a joint task group to look at a “plan to construct a hydroelectric project” using both countries’ investments.
- A maximum of three people from each country will serve on the task force. At the 9th meeting of the Nepal-India Energy Secretary-Level Joint Steering Committee in Kathmandu, an agreement was inked.
5. India is placed 43rd in the 10th International Intellectual Property Index (IIP Index 2022); the United States is first.
- The USCC’s Global Innovation Policy Centre (GIPC) has released the 10th edition of the International Intellectual Property (IIP) Index, titled ‘Compete for Tomorrow’ (IIP Index 2022). On the 2022 IIP Index, India is rated 43rd out of 55 countries.
- The United States (US) leads the Index with 95.48 percent, followed by the United Kingdom (UK) with 94.14 percent, and Germany with 92.46 percent.

6. The state-owned National Hydropower Generation Company (NHPC) signed a 10-year credit agreement with HDFC Bank to securitize the return on equity (RoE) of its 540-MegaWatt (3 X 180 MegaWatt) Chamera-I Power Plant in Himachal Pradesh.
- Regulation 30 of the Securities and Exchange Board of India (SEBI) (Listing Obligations and Disclosure Requirements) Regulations, 2015 governs the facility arrangement.
7. MSME RuPay Credit Card was launched by Union Bank of India.
- The Union Bank of India (UBI) has developed the ‘Union MSME RuPay Credit Card’ in collaboration with the National Payments Corporation of India (NPCI) to help Micro, Small and Medium Enterprises (MSMEs) meet their business-related operational expenses (MSMEs).
- This card offers up to 50 days of interest-free credit. The Union Bank of India offers a specialised card for MSMEs to qualifying borrowers.
8. SEBI has extended the deadline for client-level fund segregation.
- The Securities and Exchange Board of India (SEBI) has pushed back the date for implementing Client Level Segregation of Funds and Collateral Monitoring at Stock Brokers from February 28, 2022 to May 2, 2022.
- SEBI issued rules on customer-level segregation in 2021 in response to cases of brokers misusing client collateral. The deadline for these guidelines has been extended for the second time by SEBI. It was originally scheduled to go into effect on December 1, 2021.
9. India’s GDP growth is expected to be 8.3% in FY22, according to Brickworks Ratings.
- India’s GDP growth prediction for the current fiscal year 2021-22 has been lowered downwards by Brickworks Ratings to 8.3 percent (FY22). The rating agency had previously predicted this to be between 8.5 and 9 percent in January 2022.
- Brickwork Ratings is one of the seven credit rating agencies registered with the Sebi (CRA). The most recent growth indices indicate that the economy has slowed in recent months. The rapid spread of Covid in January 2022 resulted in increased limits on economic activity, stifling the revival effort, especially in contact-intensive industries.
10. Bharti Airtel has agreed to buy a 4.7 percent share in Indus Towers from Vodafone.
- Bharti Airtel has decided to buy a 4.7 percent share in Indus Towers from Vodafone Group, according to the business.
- The two firms agreed to a deal in which Vodafone would invest the proceeds in Vodafone Idea (Vi), and the latter would pay off its debts to Indus Towers.
11. Kirloskar Ferrous Industries Ltd’s acquisition of interests in ISMT was approved by CCI.
