4-Heckling


Part of Speech: Verb

Meaning (English): interrupt (a public speaker) with derisive or aggressive comments or abuse.

Meaning (Odia): ଉପହାସକାରୀ କିମ୍ବା ଆକ୍ରମଣାତ୍ମକ ମନ୍ତବ୍ୟ କିମ୍ବା ଅପବ୍ୟବହାର ସହିତ ବାଧା (ଏକ ସାଧାରଣ ବକ୍ତା) |

Use: The heckling drowned his speech.

Synonyms: taunt, disrupt


5-Imprimatur


Part of Speech: Noun

Meaning (English): an acceptance of something as satisfactory

Meaning (Odia): ସନ୍ତୋଷଜନକ ଭାବରେ କିଛି ଗ୍ରହଣ

Use: The project cannot go ahead without the imprimatur of the Treasury.

Synonyms: approval, acceptation

Antonyms: disapproval, disfavor


6-Defile


Part of Speech: Verb

Meaning (English): to make unfit for use by the addition of something harmful or undesirable

Meaning (Odia): କିଛି କ୍ଷତିକାରକ କିମ୍ବା ଅବାଞ୍ଛିତ ଯୋଗ ଦ୍ୱାରା ବ୍ୟବହାର ପାଇଁ ଅନୁପଯୁକ୍ତ କରିବାକୁ |

Use: The platoon debouched from the defile into the plain.

Synonyms:  befoul, contaminate

Antonyms: purify, clean


7-Fluke


Part of Speech: Noun

Meaning (English): an unlikely chance occurrence, especially a surprising piece of luck.

Meaning (Odia): ଏକ ଅସମ୍ଭବ ସୁଯୋଗ ଘଟଣା,  ଭାଗ୍ୟର ଏକ ଆଶ୍ଚର୍ଯ୍ୟଜନକ ଅଂଶ |

Use: The discovery was something of a fluke.

Synonyms: chance, coincidence


8-Proffer


Part of Speech: Verb

Meaning (English): hold out (something) to someone for acceptance; offer.

Meaning (Odia): ଗ୍ରହଣ ପାଇଁ କାହାକୁ (କିଛି) ଧରି ରଖ

Use: I didn’t think it wise to proffer an opinion.

Synonyms: offer, put forward


9-Sentinel


Part of Speech: Verb

Meaning (English): call into question the truth or validity of.

Meaning (Odia): ଏହାର ସତ୍ୟତା  ଉପରେ ପ୍ରଶ୍ନ କର |

Use: A policeman stood sentinel at the entrance.
