Part of Speech: Verb

Meaning (English): to prevent from achieving a goal

Meaning (Odia): ଏକ ଲକ୍ଷ୍ୟ ହାସଲ କରିବାକୁ ପ୍ରତିରୋଧ କରିବା |

Use: Many people would balk at setting up a new business during a recession.

Synonyms: block, hinder

Antonyms: facilitate, assist


3-Disparaged


Part of Speech: Verb

Meaning (English): regard or represent as being of little worth.

Meaning (Odia): ଅଳ୍ପ ମୂଲ୍ୟର ବୋଲି ଭାବନ୍ତୁ କିମ୍ବା ପ୍ରତିନିଧିତ୍ୱ କରନ୍ତୁ |

4-Daze


Part of Speech: Verb

Meaning (English): make (someone) unable to think or react properly; stupefy; bewilder.

Meaning (Odia): ସଠିକ୍ ଚିନ୍ତା କରିବାକୁ କିମ୍ବା ପ୍ରତିକ୍ରିୟା କରିବାକୁ ଅସମର୍ଥ କର |

Use: She was wandering around in a daze this morning.

5-Derelict


Part of Speech: Adjective

Meaning (English): in a very poor condition as a result of disuse and neglect.

Meaning (Odia): ଅବ୍ୟବସ୍ଥା ଏବଂ ଅବହେଳାର ପରିଣାମ ସ୍ୱରୂପ ବହୁତ ଖରାପ ଅବସ୍ଥାରେ |

Use:  The land lay derelict for ten years.

Synonyms: dilapidated, ramshackle

Antonyms: conscientious, nonnegligent


6-Piffle


Part of Speech: Noun

Meaning (English): language, behavior, or ideas that are absurd and contrary to good sense

Meaning (Odia): ଭାଷା, ଆଚରଣ, କିମ୍ବା ଧାରଣା ଯାହା  ଉତ୍ତମ ଜ୍ଞାନର ବିପରୀତ |

Use: He talks such a load of piffle.

Synonyms:  nonsense, blather

Antonyms: sense, discernment


7-Secessionism


Part of Speech: Noun

Meaning (English): the act or process of a whole separating into two or more parts

Meaning (Odia): ଦୁଇ କିମ୍ବା ଅଧିକ ଭାଗରେ  ପୃଥକ କାର୍ଯ୍ୟ କିମ୍ବା ପ୍ରକ୍ରିୟା |

Part of Speech: Noun

Meaning (English): a person who actively supports or favors a cause

Meaning (Odia): ଜଣେ ବ୍ୟକ୍ତି ଯିଏ ସକ୍ରିୟ ଭାବରେ ଏକ କାରଣକୁ ସମର୍ଥନ କରେ  |

Part of Speech: Verb

Meaning (English): prove (a person or an assertion) to be wrong.

Meaning (Odia): ଭୁଲ ବୋଲି ପ୍ରମାଣ କର (ଜଣେ ବ୍ୟକ୍ତି ବା ଏକ ଧାରଣା) |

Use: Certain that she could find evidence, the young lawyer set out to confute the witness’s story against her client.

Synonyms: disprove, show/prove to be false

Antonyms: proving, validating

Part of Speech: Adjective

Meaning (English): self-assertive or proud to an irritating degree.
