1. By 2047, India should be energy independent.
◉ India may become energy independent by the year 2047 when it will have been independent for 100 years, claims the Lawrence Berkeley National Laboratory of the US Department of Energy.
◉ The “Pathways to Atmanirbhar Bharat” research also states that India’s energy infrastructure will require $3 trillion in investments over the ensuing decades.
◉ According to the report, India would achieve energy independence by adding more than 500 GW of non-fossil electricity generation capacity by 2030, a target that the government has already set, followed by an 80 percent clean grid by 2040 and a 90 percent clean grid by 2047.

2. Nagaland is prepared to host the G20 Business Conference in Kohima in 2023.
◉ The G20 Business Summit 2023 will be held in Kohima, Nagaland, on April 5, 2023.
◉ There will be roughly 110 delegates in all, about 100 of whom will come representing the 28 G20 nations and the rest from affiliated international organizations.
◉ Another focus of the event will be a business conference and cultural activities that will promote Nagaland’s advantages.

3. The 5th Poshan Pakhwada festivities get underway
◉ The sixth Poshan Pakhwada is celebrated nationwide by the Ministry of Women and Child Development.
◉ The fifteen-day celebration began on March 20 and will last through April 3, 2023.
Via “Jan Andolan and Jan Bhagidari,” the Pakhwada seeks to promote good eating habits and create awareness of the value of nutrition.
◉ Nutrition for All: Working Together for a Healthy India is the theme for 2023.
◉ The Poshan Abhiyaan initiative, introduced by Prime Minister Narendra Modi on March 8, 2018, has been crucial in guaranteeing public engagement and elevating the conversation around nutrition.

4. Inauguration of the Aerator Cum Dancing Fountains in Srinagar
◉ Lieutenant Governor Manoj Sinha officially opened the Aerator Cum Dancing Fountains at Srinagar’s world-famous Dal Lake in the Union Territory of Jammu & Kashmir.
◉ There are six clusters of the Aerator cum Dancing Fountains placed around Dal Lake.
◉ The J&K Lakes Conservation and Management Authority (LC&MA) completed the project with the goal of luring tourists who will enhance the lake’s beauty and grandeur at an estimated cost of 10 crore rupees.

5. India placed 125th on the 2023 Global Happiness Index, with Finland coming up on top.
◉ In the World Happiness Report published by the Sustainable Development Solutions Network of the United Nations, India was ranked 125th out of 137 nations.
With a score of 7.8, Finland tops the list for the sixth consecutive year. Other Norwegian nations like ◉ Denmark and Iceland are ranked second and third.
Israel, the Netherlands, Sweden, Norway, Switzerland, Luxembourg, and New Zealand are the other countries on the top 10 list.
◉ The report found that Afghanistan, which is governed by the Taliban, is the least happy of the 137 nations. The Democratic Republic of the Congo, Zimbabwe, Lebanon, and other places are also near the bottom of the list.

7. Africa-India field training exercise AFINDEX-23 would be held in Pune
◉ AFINDEX 2023, a 10-day field training exercise between Africa and India, will take place in Pune from March 21–30.
◉ The event’s main objectives will be to develop an institutionalized framework for better and more effective military-to-military cooperation to confront new global issues, as well as joint training and the strengthening of current defense connections among diverse nations.
◉ The activity will advance the idea of African and Indian militaries working for regional unification (AMRUT).

8. In Bangalore, ISRO will host a session for young scientists.
◉ Young Scientist Program – Yuva Vigyani Karyakram, ISRO’s yearly special program for schoolchildren, is about to begin (YUVIKA).
◉ Young pupils will learn fundamental information about space technology, space science, and space applications in order to keep up with the latest developments in space science and technology.
◉ This educational initiative was designed for kids by the Indian Space Agency in an effort to “catch them young” and inspire more pupils to pursue professions in STEM-related fields of study or research. Each state or UT will be required to participate at least in part.

◉ When Rohan Bopanna, then 43, won the men’s doubles title at Indian Wells, he set a record for the oldest ATP Masters 1000 winner.
◉ In the championship match in California, Rohan Bopanna and Matthew Ebden defeated Wesley Koolhof of the Netherlands and Neil Skupski of Britain 6-3, 2-6, 10-8.
◉ Prior to Bopanna, Canadian Daniel Nestor, who won the 2015 Cincinnati Masters at the age of 42, held the record for the oldest player to win an ATP Masters 1000 championship.
◉ 24 ATP championships, including five ATP Masters 1000 titles, have been won by Bopanna to date.
