1. Triple the amount of the previous year’s surplus transfer to the government, approved by the RBI for FY23 is Rs 87,416 crore.
◉ The transfer of Rs 87,416 crore in surplus to the government for the fiscal year 2022–23 has been authorized by the Reserve Bank of India (RBI). The transfer of Rs 30,307 crore from the previous year is virtually double this sum.
◉ The increase in revenue from the selling of foreign exchange reserves is blamed for the surge in the surplus. Despite obstacles including rising US treasury yields, the RBI’s surplus transfer is anticipated to significantly increase the government’s revenue.

2. RBI declares the removal of 2000-euro bills from circulation.
◉ The Reserve Bank of India (RBI) has made a momentous decision to stop issuing banknotes with the denomination of 2000. These notes will no longer be printed, although they will still be accepted as legal money.
◉ The decision was made since the goal of launching the 2000 banknotes has been achieved and other denominations can now properly meet the economy’s monetary needs.

3. Chosen to manage the IREDA IPO for the development of renewable energy
◉ The initial public offering (IPO) of the Indian Renewable Energy Development Agency (IREDA) is scheduled to take place soon.
◉ The government has designated IDBI Capital, BOB Capital, and SBI Capital as the main managers for the IPO to oversee this momentous event.
◉ The IPO, which aims to finance the expansion of the renewable energy project financier, is anticipated to include a 10% stake sale by the government and a 15% fresh stock issuance by IREDA.

4. The final Kalvari-class submarine of the Indian Navy, Vaghsheer, has started sea trials.
◉ Vaghsheer, the sixth and last submarine of the Kalvari class in the Indian Navy, has started its sea trials. After these trials are finished, Vaghsheer will be delivered to the Indian Navy in early 2024. The submarine was launched on April 20, 2022, at Mazagon Dock Shipbuilders Limited’s (MDL) Kanhoji Angre Wet Basin.
◉ According to the Ministry of Defence, MDL has delivered three of the Project-75 submarines in less than 24 months, and the start of the sixth submarine’s sea trials is a noteworthy accomplishment.

5. India’s Defence Production Exceeds $1 Billion On the Back of Important Reforms, a Mark
◉ India has reached a critical milestone in its defense industry as the value of defense output in the nation has for the first time surpassed 1 lakh crore.
◉ This accomplishment is the consequence of important reforms carried out to increase sector growth and lessen reliance on military imports.
◉ In the last five years, the value of defense production has nearly doubled, showing India’s efforts to improve its standing as an exporter of weapons and systems.

◉ A semi-autobiographical book titled “Guts Amidst Bloodbath” by former Indian Test cricketer Anshuman Gaekwad was published at the Cricket Club of India (CCI).
◉ Six former cricket captains of India, including Sachin Tendulkar, Gundapa Vishwanath, Sunil Gavaskar, Dilip Vengsarkar, Ravi Shastri, and Kapil Dev, attended the event. These illustrious cricketers swapped stories and gave Gaekwad credit for his services to the game.
