- Incheo, South Korea, has opened the world’s largest hydrogen fuel cell power plant in Seo-gu.
- The ‘Shinincheon Bitdream Fuel Cell Power Plant’ has a total capacity of 78.96 kWh and is capable of powering roughly 250,000 houses per year.
6. India and Israel have agreed to establish a task team to seek new areas for defence cooperation.
- The Joint Working Group on Bilateral Defense Collaboration between India and Israel has agreed to organise a Task Force to develop a comprehensive ten-year road plan for identifying new areas of cooperation. The 15th Joint Working Group meeting in Tel Aviv, Israel, resolved on this. Dr. Ajay Kumar, the Defence Secretary, and Major General (Retd) Amir Eshel, the Director General of Israel’s Ministry of Defense, co-chaired the meeting.
7. According to the World Bank, the most human capital has been lost in South Asia as a result of air pollution.

- Max Life Insurance Co. Ltd announced that it has joined the Reserve Bank of India’s (RBI) account aggregator (AA) framework, which was launched in September. Max Life is the first insurance company to do so.
- Max Life has partnered with FinVu, a non-banking finance business (NBFC) that is also an AA, and Finarkein, a data analytics firm, to become a Financial Information User on the network (FIU).

10. The government has set the EPF interest rate for FY21 at 8.5 percent.
- The interest rate on employees’ provident fund (EPF) deposits for 2020-21 has been set at 8.5 percent by the Ministry of Finance. For the 2019-20 fiscal year, the rate has remained constant.
- Along with PPF and the Sukanya Samriddhi Account, EPF is one of the fixed-income instruments that is totally tax-free under the exempt-exempt-exempt (EEE) regime.
11. The Asian Development Bank has approved a loan of $250 million for India’s National Industrial Corridor Development Program (NICDP)
- The Asian Development Bank (ADB) has granted a loan of USD 250 million (about Rs 1,875 crore) to help India’s National Industrial Corridor Development Program (NICDP).
- This is the first subprogram of a USD 500 million programmatic loan to construct 11 industrial corridors throughout 17 states.
