1. The diversion of the Marusudar River at the Pakal Dul HE Project in J&K Union is inaugurated by the Power Minister. In Kishtwar, Power Minister R K Singh virtually launched the Pakal Dul Hydroelectric Project’s diversion of the Marusudar River.
- Chenab Valley Power Projects Pvt Limited (CVPPPL), a joint venture business of National Hydro Electric Power Corporation (NHPC) and Jammu and Kashmir State Power Development Corporation, is building the Pakal Dul HE Project (1,000 MW) (JKSPDC).
2. Tripura creates the “first-ever” bamboo cricket bat and stumps in the country.
- Tripura’s Bamboo and Cane Development Institute (BCDI) and the North East Centre of Technology Application and Reach (NECTAR) claimed to have created the country’s first-ever bamboo-made cricket bat, following all of the industry’s established protocols.
- Officials have stated that these bats may be used in all formats of cricket and that they are awaiting feedback from professionals in order to provide further value. The product was created utilising locally accessible materials at Tripura’s Bamboo and Cane Development Institute.
3. The Cabinet of Meghalaya has approved the construction of a new district known as Eastern West Khasi Hills District.
- The proposal to create a new district called Eastern West Khasi Hills has been approved by the Meghalaya Cabinet.
- The Mairang civil sub-division was upgraded to create the new district.

4. For retirees, SBI has launched a ‘Video Life Certificate’ service.
- The country’s largest lender, State Bank of India (SBI), has announced the debut of the Video Life Certificate (VLC) facility with the goal of providing a seamless life certificate submission experience for millions of retirees (other than family pensioners).
- Pensioners can schedule a video conversation with SBI employees at their leisure and finish the life certificate filing process without having to leave their homes.
5. For FY21, the Finance Ministry has approved an 8.5 percent return on PF deposits.
- The finance ministry has approved an 8.5 percent interest rate on provident fund deposits for 2020-21, allowing the Employees’ Provident Fund Organisation to credit interest to almost 60 million beneficiaries’ accounts.
- Before EPFO begins crediting the interest rate into the beneficiary account, the labour ministry must announce the rate for the year.

6. The parent company of Google has launched an AI-driven drug development company.
- Alphabet, the parent company of Google, has formed a new firm aimed at using artificial intelligence to discover novel drugs.
- Isomorphic Laboratories, a new Alphabet subsidiary, will build on the achievement of DeepMind, which utilised AI to predict the 3D structure of a protein directly from its amino acid sequence.

7. Max Verstappen wins Mexico Grand Prix 2021 Max Verstappen won the Mexican Grand Prix at Autodromo Hermanos Rodriguez in Mexico City, extending his lead in the Formula One World Championship over Mercedes’ Lewis Hamilton.
- At the first curve, Verstappen overtook both Mercedes cars and claimed the lead from third on the grid.
8. TCS becomes the Jaguar Formula E racing team’s title sponsor.
- Tata Consultancy Services (TCS) has become the title partner of Jaguar Racing, the legendary British racing team, ahead of the ABB FIA Formula E World Championship in 2021/22.
- Jaguar TCS Racing will be the team’s name. Through its Mahindra Formula E racing team, Tech Mahindra is already participating in this arena.

9. Mountaineer Priyanka Mohite of Maharashtra will get the coveted Tenzing Norgay National Adventure Award 2020 for her remarkable contribution to the field of land adventure, according to a central government official.
- President Ram Nath Kovind will present the honour to Mohite, who is from the Satara district, at a gathering on November 13 at the Rashtrapati Bhawan in New Delhi.
10. The Basavashree Award 2021 will be given posthumously to Puneeth Rajkumar.
- The Bruhanmutt will posthumously bestow the Basavashree award 2021 to Kannada actor Puneeth Rajkumar. Dr Shivamurthy Murugha Sharanaru, the seer of the Murugha Mutt, delivered a declaration in this respect.
- The award recognises individuals who have made significant contributions to society in their particular disciplines while adhering to Lord Basaveshwar’s teachings.
11. In Rashtrapati Bhavan, President Ram Nath Kovind bestows Padma awards on important individuals.
- This evening, President Ram Nath Kovind honoured Boxer MC Mary Kom with the Padma Vibhushan Award. He also bestowed the second-highest civilian honour posthumously on former Mauritius President Anerood Jugnauth and late seer of Pejawar Mutt Vishwesha Teertha Swami.
- This year, President will present 119 Padma Awards. There are seven Padma Vibhushan awards, ten Padma Bhushan awards, and 102 Padma Shri awards on the list. There are 29 female winners, 16 posthumous awardees, and one transgender awardee.
