1. The National Agriculture Market (e-NAM) has been operational for six years.
◉ On April 14, 2022, the National Agriculture Market (e-NAM), a pan-India online trading network, will celebrate its sixth anniversary.
◉ PM Modi announced this flagship programme in 2016 with the goal of connecting physical wholesale markets and state/UT mandis to enhance electronic agriculture trading.

2. In Assam, the Rongali or Bohag Bihu Festival is held.
◉ One of Assam’s most important celebrations, Bohag Bihu or Rongali Bihu, occurs every year in the second week of April, signalling the start of the harvest season.
◉ Bohag Bihu is observed this year from April 14 to April 16. In Assamese, Rongali means “joy,” and the festival is a time to rejoice and celebrate with family and friends.

3. PM Modi inaugurates the Pradhan Mantri Sangrahalaya in New Delhi’s Teen Murti Complex.
◉ On April 14, 2022, Prime Minister Shri Narendra Modi opened the Pradhanmantri Sangrahalaya (or Prime Ministers’ Museum) to mark Dr. Bhimrao Ambedkar’s 132nd birthday and the Azadi Ka Amrit Mahotsav celebrations.
◉ PM Modi also purchased the museum’s first ticket prior to its opening.
◉ The museum pays homage to each of India’s 14 prime ministers since independence, regardless of ideology or tenure.

4. Telangana and Thailand have signed a memorandum of understanding to enhance trade and investment.
◉ The Telangana government’s Industries and Commerce Department and the Royal Thai government’s Ministry of Commerce have signed an MoU to encourage trade and investment between the two states.
◉ The MoU was signed virtually by KT Rama Rao, Telangana’s Minister of Information Technology, and Jurin Laksanawisit, Thailand’s Minister of Commerce.

5. UBI will purchase a 75 per cent stake in IIBM held jointly by BoB and IOB.
◉ In India International Bank (Malaysia) Berhad, Union Bank of India (UBI) is set to acquire a 75 per cent share held jointly by Bank of Baroda (BoB) – 40 per cent and Indian Overseas Bank (IOB) – 35 per cent (IIBM).
◉ The IIBM will then be converted to a 100 per cent UBI unit.
◉ IIBM was founded on August 13th, 2010 and began operations on July 11th, 2012.

6. India’s GDP growth is expected to be 8% in FY23, according to the World Bank.
◉ Due to the detrimental impact of the war in Ukraine, the World Bank has lowered India’s GDP prediction for the fiscal year 2022-23 to 8% from 8.7% in its bi-annual “South Asia Economic Focus” report.
◉ The growth forecast for FY23 was previously projected at 8.7% in January 2022.

7. ICICI Bank and GIFT SEZ have signed a memorandum of understanding to support global, Indian businesses.
◉ ICICI Bank has inked a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with GIFT SEZ (Special Economic Zone), India’s first International Financial Services Centre (IFSC), which is based in GIFT City in Gandhinagar, Gujarat.
◉ The goal of the MoU is to market the GIFT SEZ to Indian and international firms, especially in the sectors of information technology (IT), ITeS, and financial services.

8. Prabhat Patnaik has been chosen to receive the Malcolm Adiseshiah Award in 2022.
◉ Prabhat Patnaik, a well-known Indian economist and political commentator, has been chosen for the Malcom Adiseshiah Award 2022.
◉ The Malcolm and Elizabeth Adiseshiah Trust bestows this honour on a distinguished social scientist. The award comes with a citation and a cash prize of Rs. 2 lakh.

9. The International Gandhi Award for Leprosy 2021 was given by the Vice President.
◉ Dr. Bhushan Kumar of Chandigarh received the International Gandhi Award for Leprosy, 2021, in the Indian nomination (individual) category, and Sahyog Kushtha Yagna Trust, Gujarat, in the institutional category, from Vice President M. Venkaiah Naidu.
◉ Gandhi Memorial Leprosy Foundation established the annual prize. Dr. Bhushan Kumar and the Sahyog Kushtha Yagna Trust have both worked to promote awareness about leprosy and to provide care to people who have been affected. They’ve also been striving to dispel the social stigmas that surround this illness.

10. IAF and IIT Madras have inked a memorandum of understanding to develop weapon system maintenance solutions.
◉ The Indian Air Force (IAF) and the Indian Institute of Technology (IIT) Madras have signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) for technology development and indigenous solutions for the maintenance of various weapon systems.
◉ The IAF and IIT Madras alliance intend to accelerate IAF’s indigenization activities in order to achieve ‘Atmanirbhar Bharat.’ For feasibility studies and prototype development, IIT Madras will provide consulting backed by research.

11. IIT Guwahati collaborated with NTPC to create CO2 collection technology that is both energy-efficient and cost-effective.
◉ Assam’s IIT Guwahati has teamed up with NTPC Limited to design and create a highly energy-efficient facility to extract CO2 from power plants.
◉ Prof. Bishnupada Mandal, Department of Chemical Engineering, IIT Guwahati, headed a research team that created this indigenous technology.

12. In 2023, India will host the World Cup for Street Children.
◉ In 2023, India will host the World Cup for Street Children Cricket. The Street Child Cricket World Cup 2023, organised by Street Child United and Save the Children India, would bring 22 teams from 16 countries to India next year.
◉ This world cup will be held in September, just before the ICC World Cup, and it will feature a mixed-gender cricket tournament for street children and young people.

13. World Art Day is celebrated on April 15th.
◉ Every year on April 15th, World Art Day is commemorated. This day is observed around the world to highlight the value of art in cultivating creativity, innovation, and cultural variety for all people.
◉ The International Association of Art (IAA), an NGO working in official partnership with UNESCO, declared the day. The International Association of Art’s 17th General Assembly in Guadalajara, Mexico, established World Art Day.

14. Himachal Pradesh Day is celebrated on April 15th.
◉ The state of Himachal Pradesh celebrates Himachal Day on April 15th. On this day, the state became a full-fledged state.
◉ The princely republics of Mandi, Chamba, Mahasu, and Sirmour were merged into four districts, resulting in the formation of Himachal Pradesh as a Union Territory in 1948. Himachal Pradesh was established as India’s 18th state in 1971, with Shimla as its capital.
