IBPS PO Interview
- Candidates who pass the mains exam are invited to a face-to-face interview, which is worth a maximum of 100 points. In the interview, a minimum score of 40% is required (35 percent for SC/ST/OBC/PWD candidates).
- The interview session lasts about 15-20 minutes, during which a panel of bank employees asks the candidates questions about themselves, the banking industry, current events, general awareness, and so on. Candidates must arrive at the interview well-dressed, confident, and with all relevant documents.
- The final merit list is compiled using the results of the main examination and the interview. IBPS calculates the final score by allocating 80 percent of the marks to the main examination and 20 percent to the interview.
Penalty for Wrong Answers
In the Objective Tests of both the Preliminary and Mains exams, there is a penalty for incorrect responses. If a candidate answers an objective question incorrectly, he or she will be penalized one-fourth of the marks given to that question. For example, a bad answer to a one-mark question will result in 0.25 points being deducted as a penalty. There will be no penalty for leaving a question blank, that is if the candidate does not mark an answer.
Final Score Calculation for IBPS PO Exam
The following factors are taken into account when calculating the final result for the IBPS PO exam:
- Preliminary Exam (Tier-1) marks will not be factored into the final score and will only be used to qualify for the Mains Exam (Tier-2).
- To be considered for final merit, candidates must pass Phase 2 and the interview independently.
- The weighting (ratio) of the CWE Main exam and the interview in determining the final merit list will be 80:20.
- For each category, the final merit list is based on the total score out of 100. Candidates with the highest merit rank in each category are chosen at the end.
