1. The International Solar Alliance’s (ISA) 4th General Assembly has begun.

The International Solar Alliance’s (ISA) Fourth General Assembly will be held virtually between October 18 and 21, 2021.
RK Singh, the President of the ISA Assembly and Union Minister for New and Renewable Energy, will preside over the meeting.

2. J&K and the Dubai government have signed an agreement for real estate development, industrial parks, and other projects.

The government of Jammu and Kashmir has signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with the government of Dubai for the Union Territory’s quick development and progress.
The government of Dubai has agreed to assist in the development of the real estate sector, industrial parks, IT towers, multipurpose towers, logistics, medical college, super specialty hospital, and a variety of other business ventures in Jammu and Kashmir as part of the MoU.

3. The ‘Modi Van’ is flagged off by Home Minister Amit Shah.

On October 19, 2021, Union Home Minister Amit Shah launched “Five Mobile Medical Vans” dubbed “Modi Van” in Uttar Pradesh’s Kaushambi district.
These vans were introduced as part of the BJP’s ‘Seva Hi Sangathan’ initiative to mark Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s 20-year tenure as Prime Minister.

4. In the Mercer CFS Global Pension Index poll for 2021, India is ranked 40th; Iceland is ranked first.

6. ‘Xihe,’ China’s first solar exploration spacecraft, has successfully launched.

China has launched its first solar exploration satellite into space, with the goal of learning more about the violent and rapid physical processes that cause solar flares.
A Long March-2D rocket launched the 550 kg (121 pound) satellite named Xihe (Name of Sun God in Chinese mythology) from the Taiyuan Satellite Launch Center in northern Shanxi Province.
