1. PM Modi spoke at the National Commission for Women’s 30th Anniversary Celebration.

  • On January 31, Prime Minister Narendra Modi spoke at the National Commission for Women’s (NCW) 30th Foundation Day celebration.
  • “The program’s theme is ‘She The Change Maker,’ and it celebrates women’s accomplishments in several sectors.

2. Security Manufacturing and Minting Corporation of India Limited (SPMCIL) has added new bank note printing lines to its Currency Note Press in Nashik and Bank Note Press in Dewas.

  • SPMCIL is a Miniratna firm controlled by the Indian government that produces currency, bank notes, and security paper.

3. Xiomara Castro was the first woman to be elected to Congress. Honduran President

  • Xiomara Castro, a socialist, was sworn in as Honduras’ first female president. She promised to turn the crime-ridden and impoverished country into a “socialist and democratic state.”

4. Indian Mercantile Cooperative Bank Ltd, Lucknow, has been placed under limitations by the Reserve Bank of India.

  • The Reserve Bank of India imposed a number of conditions on Indian Mercantile Cooperative Bank Ltd, Lucknow, including a withdrawal limit of Rs 1 lakh.
  • The limits went into effect on January 28, 2022, when business hours were closed. The Lucknow-based co-operative bank will not extend or renew any loans or advances, or make any investments, according to the RBI.

5. During April to December 2021, India’s exports of marine products increased by 35% to $6.1 billion.

6. Tata Steel would pay Rs 12,100 crore for Neelachal Ispat Nigam.

  • The sale of Neelachal Ispat Nigam Limited (NINL) to Tata Steel Long Products has been approved by the government.
  • The CCEA has accepted Tata Steel Long Products’ highest bid for 93.71 percent of NINL’s shares. The enterprise value of the bid is Rs 12,100 crore.

7. India’s GDP growth is expected to be between 8 and 8.5 percent in FY23, according to the Economic Survey.

  • For the fiscal year ending March 2023, the Economic Survey forecasts a growth rate of 8-8.5 percent.
  • Finance Minister Nirmala Sitharaman presented the Economic Survey 2021-22 in the Lok Sabha on January 31, and the Budget will be presented at 11 a.m. on February 1.

8. Meta worked with the Federation of Indian Chambers of Commerce and Industry (FICCI) to support women-led SMBs across India.

  • Baba Iqbal Singh, the founder of Akal Academies and a Padma Shri awardee, passed dead. Baba Iqbal Singh was an Indian Sikh socio-spiritual leader who has worked tirelessly in only one direction: delivering value-based education in rural India.
