1. Amit Shah announces the launch of the ‘Ayushman CAPF’ health card.

  • The Central government has extended the benefits of the “Ayushman CAPF healthcare scheme” to troops of all Central Armed Police Forces, according to Union Home Minister Amit Shah (CAPFs).
  • The scheme was created as part of the Modi government’s aim to guarantee that CAPF troops have access to healthcare so that they can focus on their duty.

2. Covaxin from Bharat Biotech has been approved by the WHO for emergency use.

  • Bharat Biotech’s Covaxin has been approved by the WHO, with the technical advisory team recommending the India-made vaccine for emergency use in anyone aged 18 and up.
  • This is a significant step forward in India’s fight against Covid-19. Covaxin is a vaccine developed by Hyderabad-based Bharat Biotech and the Indian Council of Medical Research. It is totally “made in India.”

3. A bill has been introduced in the United States to make Diwali a national holiday.

  • Congresswoman Carolyn B Maloney of New York has introduced legislation to make Diwali a national holiday in the United States. The Deepavali Day Act was introduced in the House of Representatives by the member.
  • A number of congressmen, including Indian-American Representative Raja Krishnamoorthi, support the historic measure. Meanwhile, Krishnamoorthi sponsored a resolution in the US Congress to recognise the festival of lights’ religious and historical significance.

4. The Reserve Bank of India has issued a revamped PCA framework for banks.

  • The Reserve Bank of India (RBI) has released a revamped Prompt Corrective Action (PCA) framework for banks, which will allow supervisory involvement at the “right moment” and serve as a tool for effective market discipline.
  • The revamped framework’s core areas for monitoring will be capital, asset quality, and leverage. From January 1, 2022, the updated PCA framework will be in force. The framework was last updated in April of this year.

  • The World Bank (WB) and the NITI Aayog (National Institution for Transforming India) are collaborating to make an electric vehicle financing programme easier and faster (EVs).
  • The State Bank of India (SBI) will serve as the programme manager for a $300 million “first loss risk sharing instrument” set up by NITI Aayog and the World Bank.

  • The book spans several decades and depicts the family’s gradual disintegration as the country transitions to democracy.

  • World Tsunami Awareness Day in 2021 promotes the “Sendai Seven Campaign,” which aims to “significantly expand international cooperation to developing nations through suitable and sustainable support to complement their national measures for implementation of the current Framework by 2030.”
