Q: Who conducts OSSTET?

A: Board of Secondary Education, Odisha (BSEO) conducts OSSTET or Odisha Secondary School Teacher Eligibility Test. The exam is a state-level exam conducted to determine the eligibility of the candidates wish to become secondary teachers in various schools of Odisha.

Q: What is the minimum percentage of marks required to be eligible for OSSTET?

A: Candidates need to score at least 50% marks in graduation to be eligible for OSSTET along with B.Ed degree.

Q: What is the minimum qualifying percentage for OSSTET?

A: Candidates must score 60% or above in OSSTET examination to be considered as TET qualified.

Q: Is there any age limit to apply for OSSTET?

A: No, there is no age limit to apply for OSSTET exam.

Q: How many exams are there in OSSTET exam?

A: In OSSTET, there are two categories, category 1 is conducted for education teachers and category 2 is conducted for physical education teacher.

Q: What is the application process of OSSTET?

A: OSSTET application is an online process, candidates need to apply online at the official website.

Q: For how many subjects, OSSTET exam is held?

A: OSSTET is held for seven subjects, the subjects are – TGT (Science – PCM/ CBZ),  TGT Arts,  Hindi Teacher,  Classical Teacher – Urdu, Telegu and Sanskrit, and Physical Education teachers.

Q: What is the expected vacancy for OSSTET 2021?

A: There is no official data on the OSSTET vacancy as of now, we will update as soon as the data is available.

Q: Is OSSTET valid for lifetime?

A: The certificate obtained after qualifying OSSTET will remain valid for seven years from the date of issuance.

Q: What is the OSSTET application fee for SC/ST categories?

A: OSSTET application fee for SC/ST category candidates is Rs 300.

Q: What is the OSSTET application fee for General/OBC/SEBC categories?

A: OSSTET application fee for General/OBC/SEBC category candidates is Rs 500.

Q: Can I get a refund after paying OSSTET application fee?

A: OSSTET application fees are non-refundable once after paying, hence, candidates can not claim a refund on the same.

Q: What are the documents required for OSSTET application?

A: The following documents are required for OSSTET application submission –

  • 10th and 12th mark sheet
  • Scanned Photograph and Signature
  • Category certificate (If applicable)
  • Qualifying Educational Certificate
  • Debit Card/ Credit Card for Online Payments.
  • Certificate for Final Year of Training Course

Q: Do candidates need to submit original documents during online OSSTET application submission?

A:  Candidates may need to produce the documents in original during document verification, therefore furnishing all information correctly is very important.

Q: What are the modes of OSSTET application fee payments?

A:  Candidates can pay the application fee online or offline as both modes are available to pay the application fee. Online payment can be made through the modes of Net Banking, Debit Card and Credit Card. Offline payment can be made using cash payment through bank challan.

Q: What is the total marks of OSSTET exam?

A: The total marks of the OSSTET exam is 150. The number of question asked is 150; each question carries 1 mark.

Q: What is the duration of OSSTET exam?

A: OSSTET Paper I and II both are  held for 2.5 hours or 150 minutes.

A: In OSSTET exam, a total of 150 questions are being asked, each question is of 1 mark.

A: OSSTET exam is held offline, that means the exam is conducted in pen and paper mode.

A: The questions generally asked in OSSTET exam are of 12th standards or of undergraduate level.

Q: What are the subjects in OSSTET paper II?

A: The subjects in OSSTET paper II are –

  • Language-I (Odia)
  • Language-II (English)
  • Physical Education
  • Child Development, Pedagogy, and School Management.

Q: What is the marking scheme of OSSTET exam?

A: Candidates are awarded   +1 for correct answer, there is no  negative marking for wrong answers.

Q: Is there negative marking in OSSTET exam?

A: No, there is no negative marking in OSSTET papers.

Q: From which topics questions come in OSSTET TGT Arts, Science and CBZ papers?

A: For TGT Arts, Science and CBZ, questions will be asked from respective subjects apart from common subjects i.e. Languages and Child pedagogy

A: For classical Indian language teaches, questions will be asked from respective subjects apart from common subjects i.e. Languages and Child pedagogy.
