1. ‘Vaishali Festival of Democracy’ was held in Bihar by ICCR.
◉ The “Vaishali Festival of Democracy” organized by the Indian Council for Cultural Relations (ICCR) at Bihar’s Nalanda University showcases India’s rich democratic heritage.
◉ On Friday, September 15, which is also International Day of Democracy, the festival, called the “Vaishali Festival of Democracy,” will take place.
◉ The university was chosen by the ICCR as the location because of its importance to Bihar, the nation’s democratic values, and the presence of a large international audience.
◉ The origins of democracy can be found in Vaishali in Bihar.

2. The Maharashtra Governor officially opened the fourth World Trade Expo.
◉ The fourth World Trade Expo, India’s largest commercial forum for fostering international trade ties, especially for MSMEs, was officially opened by Ramesh Bais.
◉ The World Trade Center Mumbai and the All India Association of Industries (AIAI) jointly arranged the event with the goal of highlighting technology as an important factor in trade and tourism.
◉ MSMEs can use it as a useful platform to research new international markets and find business prospects in commerce, tourism, and technology exchange.
◉ MSMEs, women business owners, startups, corporate houses with diplomatic missions from more than 25 countries, chambers of commerce, and government agencies can network more easily thanks to this special trade show.

3. The state of Uttarakhand has adopted its first service sector policy.
◉ To encourage investment in industries including healthcare, traditional medicine, education, movies, and media in the state, the Uttarakhand government has approved the creation of a program granting land and subsidies to investors.
◉ The state cabinet approved the adoption of the Uttarakhand Service Sector Policy-2023, which provides investors with land and capital subsidies, during a meeting presided over by Chief Minister Pushkar Singh Dhami.
◉ The policy’s implementation will enhance the economy by USD 27 billion by 2030 (excluding tourism) and have a significant positive impact on industries such as healthcare, wellness, traditional medicine, education, film, media, sports, and facilities for skill education.

4. Mumbai hosts the opening of the global partnership for financial inclusion meeting.
◉ Beginning in 2016, the Fourth G20 Global Partnership for Financial Inclusion (GPFI) Meeting was
International experts participated in panel discussions at the symposium on the topics of “Credit Guarantees and SME Ecosystems” and “Energizing MSMEs for Higher Economic Growth through Digital Public Infrastructure.”
◉ The G20 Policy Recommendations for Promoting Financial Inclusion and Productivity Gains Through Digital Public Infrastructure created under the G20 India Presidency and recently adopted by the G20 Leaders in the G20 Summit held in New Delhi were also presented by the World Bank.

5. ‘Sarpanch Samvaad’ mobile app is unveiled by the governor of Assam.
◉ Gulab Chand Kataria, the governor of Assam, introduced “Sarpanch Samvaad,” a smartphone app from the Quality Council of India (QCI), at Raj Bhavan.
◉ In an effort to unite over 2.5 lakh Sarpanchs across India, QCI developed the Sarpanch Samvaad, which acts as a comprehensive platform for networking, knowledge sharing, and collaboration.
◉ Sarpanchs can highlight community development initiatives in their villages through this project, learn about best practices, and build relationships across the country.
◉ The Sarpanch Samvaad project will also advance India’s rural areas to the top of the country’s growth curve, bringing Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s goal of making India a developed country by 2047 closer to reality.

6. Indian Navy and Uber collaborate to offer mobility solutions
◉ In order to provide naval officers, staff, and families with transportation options for official travel and commuting around the nation, Uber has teamed with the Indian Navy to become its sole mobility partner.
◉ Through this agreement, prestigious Indian Navy officers, personnel, and their families will receive dependable, practical, and secure mobility options.
◉ Through this collaboration, Uber’s cutting-edge ride-sharing technology will be easily incorporated into the naval ecosystem by the Indian Navy through a platform called Uber for Business.

7. RBI updates the standards for how banks must value their investments.
◉ Revisions to the Reserve Bank of India’s classification, valuation, and operation standards for commercial banks’ investment portfolios will take effect on April 1st, 2024.
◉ From the start of the following fiscal year, banks must divide their investments into three categories: available for sale (AFS), held to maturity (HTM), and a new category known as “fair value through profit and loss,” or FVTPL.
◉ The FVTPL will incorporate the current held-for-trading (HFT) category as a subcategory.

8. Kuldeep Yadav takes 150 ODI wickets in the fastest time in Indian history.
◉ In just 88 One Day Internationals, Kuldeep Yadav became the fastest Indian spinner to attain the 150 ODI wickets milestone.
◉ In the Asia Cup Super Four match against Sri Lanka, the Chinese bowler reached this milestone.
Kuldeep now has 150 wickets in 88 ODIs at an average of 25.64, with the best bowling statistics of 6/25. In ODIs, he has two five-wicket hauls and seven four-wicket hauls for India.
◉ The pacemaker Mohammed Shami, who attained 150 wickets in 80 games, is the only Indian to reach the milestone more quickly than he did.

◉ He was a pioneer in many technical domains and played a crucial influence in the infrastructure development of India. Engineer’s Day honors his outstanding achievements and the lasting impact his contributions have on the country.
