1. A global Gita festival will begin on November 19 in Kurukshetra, Haryana.
◉ The International Gita Mahotsav will be held at Kurukshetra, Haryana, from November 19 to December 6, 2022.
◉ This important Holy Gita festival will be attended by President Draupadi Murmu.
◉ Both the Gita Yagya at Brahma Sarovar and the three-day International Gita Seminar at Kurukshetra University will be attended by President Murmu.

2. In Meghalaya, the 46th Wangala Festival has come to an end.
◉ At Wangala Dam Chibragre near Tura in the West Garo Hills region of Meghalaya, the 46th Wangala Festival, also known as the 100 Drums Festival and one of the most well-known post-harvest carnivals in the state, came to an end.
◉ The Hundred Drums Wangala Extravaganza Committee was in charge of planning the three-day post-harvest festival.
◉ The festival has participation from more than ten dancing contingents from the Garo Hills. The celebration is also held in Bangladesh’s neighboring tribally dominant regions.
◉ Saljong, the fertility-promoting Sun god, is honored at the harvest celebration known as Wangala Festival.

3. According to a UN report, India is expected to overtake China as the world’s most populous nation in 2023.
◉ According to the UN report “World Population Prospects 2022,” India is expected to overtake China as the most populated nation in 2023.
◉ This is due to China’s recent significant decrease in fertility rates, which would likely result in an absolute population decline beginning as early as 2023.
◉ China’s population is projected to drop to 1.317 billion by 2050, whereas India is predicted to have 1.668 billion people.
◉ The story claims that by November 15, the world’s population had surpassed 8 billion. 9.7 billion people will inhabit the planet by the year 2050.

4. India placed eighth on the Climate Change Performance Index for 2023.
◉ In the Climate Change Performance Index (CCPI) 2023, India has advanced two points to take eighth place out of 63.
◉ India was placed 10th in 2020, 9th in 2022, and 10th in 2021.
◉ No country “did well enough in all index areas to attain an overall very high grade,” according to the report, leaving the top three spots vacant. Denmark comes in at number four, followed by Sweden and Chile.
◉ Due to plans for new coal-fired power plants, China, which is currently the world’s largest polluter, dropped 13 spots to tie for 51st in this year’s CCPI and received an overall very-low rating.

5. In October 2022, India’s exports fell 17% to $29.78 billion.
◉ According to figures issued by the commerce ministry, India’s exports decreased by 16.65% percent to $29.78 billion in October 2022 compared to the same month last year.
◉ Imports increased to USD 56.69 billion in the reviewed month from USD 53.64 billion in October 2021.
◉ In the period from April to October 2022, exports increased by 12.55 percent to USD 263.35 billion. According to the data, imports increased by 33.12 percent to USD 436.81 billion.

6. The government named Vivek Joshi to the central board of the RBI as a director.
◉ Financial Services Secretary Vivek Joshi has been appointed by the Union Government to the Reserve Bank of India’s central board of directors (RBI).
◉ In place of Sanjay Malhotra, Vivek Joshi has been proposed by the Central Government as a Director on the Central Board of the Reserve Bank of India.
◉ The board is primarily in charge of controlling the central bank.

9. George Russell of Mercedes won the 2022 Brazilian Grand Prix.
◉ George Russell of Mercedes has won his first Formula One race, the Brazilian Grand Prix in Sao Paulo.
◉ Carlos Sainz of Ferrari and Lewis Hamilton of Mercedes finished second and third, respectively.
