1. The Himachal CM opens the 2023 Real Estate Expo.
◉ Sukhvinder Singh Sukhu, the chief minister of Himachal Pradesh, opened “The Tribune Real Estate Expo, 2023” in Shimla.
◉ The event will feature participation from a few banks and about 15 real estate developers.
Potential buyers and investors are anticipated to attend from all around the nation.
◉ The majority of these developers are displaying homes in Zirakpur, Mohali, and other Chandigarh-area neighborhoods.

2. Hyderabad hosts the G20 Agriculture Ministerial Meeting (AMM)
◉ The purpose of the G20 Agriculture Ministerial Meeting (AMM) in Hyderabad was to give agriculture ministers and delegates from different G20 countries an up-close look at the Indian Institute of Millets Research (ICAR-IIMR).
◉ The delegates talked about Connecting the Digitally Disconnected- Harnessing the Power of Digital Technologies in Agriculture and Managing Agribusiness for Profit, People, and the Planet.
◉ The delegates also saw performances in the city of pearls that mixed vivid, diversified customs, arts, culture, and Indian history.

3. Government establishes a panel to suggest changes to arbitration law
◉ A committee to provide recommendations for changes to the Arbitration and Conciliation Act has been established by the Department of Legal Affairs within the Union law ministry.
◉ T K Vishwanathan, a former law secretary, would serve as the committee’s chairman.
◉ It will assess and examine the functioning of the nation’s current arbitration ecosystem, including how the Arbitration Act operates, highlighting its advantages and disadvantages in comparison to other significant international jurisdictions.

4. $150 million in financing from the World Bank is approved for the Resilient Kerala program.
◉ For the Resilient Kerala program to continue enhancing the state’s preparation against natural disasters, the effects of climate change, and disease outbreaks, the World Bank has authorized a loan of $150 million.
◉ This new funding will strengthen Kerala’s resilience in the crucial areas of managing water resources and preventing coastal erosion.
◉ With a grace term of six years, the loan from the International Bank for Reconstruction and Development (IBRD) has an ultimate maturity of 14 years.
◉ It supplements the World Bank’s prior $125 million investment, and the combined assistance is anticipated to shield close to 50 lakh people from the effects of floods.

5. Paytm releases UPI SDK for frictionless payments to online merchants.
◉ For clients to pay online businesses without the system failing, Paytm has introduced a UPI Software Development Kit (SDK).
◉ Additionally, UPI SDK guarantees transactions that cannot fail.
◉ Users won’t need to switch between a payment app and a merchant by using the Paytm UPI SDK to make straight bank account payments using UPI PIN. The business is improving two-sided payments for both customers and merchants together with Paytm UPI Lite.
◉ The Paytm UPI SDK is also the smallest and lightest one available, loaded with low-code integration, completely customizable UI themes, and priority customer support.

6. ‘ActivMoney’ is introduced by Kotak Mahindra Bank.
◉ The Kotak Mahindra Bank introduced its ActivMoney feature, which allows clients to benefit from interest rates similar to fixed deposits (FDs) of up to 7% annually and the flexibility to access their money whenever they want from the connected savings account.
◉ Many other banks, including Axis Bank, HDFC Bank, ICICI Bank, and IndusInd Bank, provide this auto sweep option.

7. RAW names Ravi Sinha as its new director.
◉ The Research and Analysis Wing (RAW) has named Ravi Sinha, an IPS officer from the Chhattisgarh cadre and member of the 1988 batch, as its new leader.
◉ Samant Kumar Goel, who is now in charge and whose term ends on June 30, 2023, will be replaced by Sinha.
◉ Sinha, who has worked for the Research and Analysis Wing (R&AW) for more than two decades, is currently the organization’s second-in-command. He was overseeing the operations wing before getting elevated.
◉ In June 2019, his predecessor Goel was named R&AW chief for a two-year term. Later, he received two one-year extensions, one in June 2021 and the other in June 2022.

8. Gandhi Peace Prize for 2021 presented to Gita Press, Gorakhpur
◉ In honor of its outstanding contribution to social, economic, and political reform through nonviolent and Gandhian techniques, Gita Press, Gorakhpur, will receive the Gandhi Peace Prize for 2021.
◉ Gita Press was chosen as the winner of the Gandhi Peace Prize by a unanimous vote of the panel, which was presided over by Prime Minister Modi.
◉ One of the biggest publishers in the world, Gita Press, Gorakhpur, has declined to receive the Rs 1 crore cash prize for the Gandhi Peace Prize for 2021 due to controversies surrounding its selection for the distinction.
◉ In 1995, to commemorate the 125th anniversary of Mahatma Gandhi’s birth and in honor of the ideas he upheld, the Gandhi Peace Prize was established as an annual honor.

9. For “Azadi,” Arundhati Roy receives the 45th European Essay Prize.
◉ The Charles Veillon Foundation has given writer Arundhati Roy the 45th European Essay Prize in recognition of her lifetime accomplishments.
◉ The prize for Roy’s French translation of “Azadi” (2021), her collection of essays, has been given.
◉ In “Azadi,” Roy considers what freedom means in a world marked by “growing authoritarianism.” ◉ The pieces feature reflections on both public and private language as well as the function of fiction and alternative imaginations in the present.
◉ Roy will receive the honor and CHF 20,000 (or around Rs. 18 lacks) in prize money during a ceremony on September 12 in Lausanne, Switzerland.

10. Indian Senior Men’s Football Team triumphs at the 2023 Intercontinental Cup
◉ At the Kalinga Stadium in Bhubaneswar, India’s men’s football team defeated Lebanon 2-0 to claim the Intercontinental Cup 2023.
◉ India’s victory over Lebanon was their second in eight meetings and their first in 47 years.
◉ The Intercontinental Cup’s third iteration was held this year. North Korea won the 2019 ◉ Intercontinental Cup by defeating Tajikistan, while the Indian football team won the inaugural Intercontinental Cup in 2018 by defeating Kenya.
