1. Five brand-new Vande Bharat trains were launched by PM Modi.
◉ Five new Vande Bharat trains were launched by the prime minister from Bhopal’s Rani Kamlapati Railway Station.
◉ Two trains out of the five will run in Madhya Pradesh and one in Karnataka. There is also a brand-new Vande Bharat Express that runs between Patna and Ranchi.
◉ Several trains run between Ranchi and Patna, Dharwad and KSR Bengaluru, Goa, and Mumbai, Bhopal and Indore, and Bhopal and Jabalpur.
◉ The number of premium trains has increased to 23 with the introduction of the new five Vande Bharat Express trains. Vande Bharat trains are currently running on 18 routes all over the nation.

2. Beginning in Tripura is the historic Kharchi Puja
◉ The venerated fourteen gods temple in Khayerpur, Tripura, saw the beginning of the historical “Kharchi Puja” in a dazzling show of cultural heritage and religious passion.
◉ The momentous event, which drew ardent believers from far and wide, signaled the return of old customs and traditions.
◉ The people of Tripura celebrate the Historical Kharchi Puja, a prominent religious festival, in commemoration of the fourteen deities who are regarded as the state’s protectors.

3. Gautam Adani, the founder of the Adani Group, releases “Jeetenge Hum”
◉ For the 2023 Cricket World Cup, the Adani Group has started a campaign named “Jeetenge Hum” to encourage the Indian cricket squad.
◉ To kick off the 2023 World Cup winning campaign, his ports-to-energy conglomerate on Saturday assembled 1983 World Cup Cricket icons, including Kapil Dev.
◉ The “Jeetenge Hum” campaign is a vehicle for fostering pride in one’s country and backing the Indian cricket team.
◉ The ad exhorts supporters to have faith in their team’s capacity to win the World Cup.

4. State-run REC Limited, a Maharatna Central Public Sector Enterprise, will extend financial ◉ Assistance to Bangalore Metro Rail Corporation Limited (BMRCL) in the amount of 3,045 crores for the establishment and development of metro lines under Bangalore Metro’s phase-II project.
◉ The Phase-II project entails extending two Phase-I corridors and constructing two additional lines, one from RV Road to Bommasandra and the other from Kalena Agrahara to Nagawara.
◉ Phase II’s 72.09 km will bring Bangalore Metro’s total network length to 114.39 km, including 101 stations.

5. The Himachal government will have a special task force to fight the drug epidemic.
◉ Sukhvinder Singh Sukhu, the chief minister of Himachal Pradesh, announced the creation of a specialized task force to address the state’s drug problem.
◉ To combat drug addiction, the government aims to open two cutting-edge drug detoxification and rehabilitation facilities in Himachal.
◉ In order to seize the properties of drug dealers and take harsh punishment against them, the State Government has raised the matter of tightening the Narcotics Act with the Central Government.

6. The airport in Bengaluru releases BLR Pulse app for travelers
◉ BLR Pulse is a new software that Bangalore International Airport Limited (BIAL) has released to give passengers at Kempegowda International Airport a hassle-free experience.
◉ Both Android and iPhone users can download the app.
◉ The BLR Pulse app enables users to keep track of real-time flight updates, reserve a table at an airport restaurant, connect to WiFi, learn about check-in gates, and even track delayed flights.
◉ It was created in partnership with GrayMatter Software Services and is an omnichannel platform.

7. S&P keeps its FY24 6% growth forecast for India.
◉ According to S&P Global Ratings, India will have the fastest-growing economy in the Asia Pacific region, with GDP growth expected to remain around 6%.
◉ In our forecast for global growth through 2026, Asian emerging market economies will continue to have some of the strongest growth rates.
◉ We anticipate that in fiscal 2024, India’s headline consumer inflation will drop from 6.7 percent to 5 percent, assuming regular monsoon conditions.
◉ S&P has cut its 2023 growth prediction for China from 5.5 percent to 5.2 percent.

◉ Rajat Verma has been named managing director and head of institutional banking for DBS Bank India.
◉ Niraj Mittal, who is currently in charge of institutional banking in India, will move into a new position as the DBS Bank’s country head in Australia.
◉ Rajat has 26 years of banking expertise, and he has an exceptional track record of guiding corporate growth and producing outcomes.
◉ He graduated from Delhi College of Engineering with a Bachelor of Electrical Engineering and from the Indian Institute of Management (IIM), Lucknow with an MBA.

9. First Kala Kranti Lifetime Achievement Award given to Pt. P. D. Baul
◉ Padma Shri Pandit Purna Das Baul received the IPAF Lifetime Achievement Award for his extraordinary contribution to traditional Baul music on the global stage during the International Performing Arts Festival (IPAF)’s Kolkata edition.
◉ At the esteemed Indian Museum’s Ashutosh Birth Centenary Hall, Governor Dr. Bose gave him the prize.
◉ This is the IPAF’s fifth year in Kolkata, featuring two days of cultural events to sustain the vanishing Indian art traditions. A variety of artists from Kolkata, as well as artists from other states, participated in it.
