1. India and Finland are forming a working group on sustainability.
◉ A government working group on sustainability will be established between India and Finland with a focus on India’s energy investments in biofuels.
◉ The Ministries of Environment, Power & Renewable Energy, and NITI Aayog will each be represented in the group.
◉ Given that Finland is encouraging investments in biofuels and renewable energy in India, the group’s focus will be on energy. Finland is also providing India with its expertise because New Delhi intends to research the Nordic power grid.
◉ The Ministries of Environment, Power and Renewable Energy and Natural Gas will represent India, which suggested the formation of this group. The group can possibly include NITI Aayog.
2. India’s first magnetic resonance imaging scanner was introduced by Jitendra Singh.
◉ Union Jitendra Singh, India’s Minister of State for Science and Technology, unveiled the country’s first Next-Generation Magnetic Resonance Imaging (MRI) Scanner in New Delhi.
◉ Strong magnetic fields and radio waves are used in MRI scans to provide precise images of the inside of the body.
◉ The National Biopharma Mission, the Biotechnology Industry Research Assistance Council, and the Department of Biotechnology can be proud of this accomplishment.
3. The PM-KUSUM Scheme has benefited 2.46 lakh farmers.
◉ According to the government, the PM-KUSUM (Pradhan Mantri Kisan Urja Suraksha evam Utthaan Mahabhiyan) Scheme will help approximately 46 lakh farmers by June 2023.
◉ The plan calls for the building of grid-connected renewable power plants as well as the solarization of agricultural pumps that are now connected to the grid.
◉ R. K. Singh, the minister of new and renewable energy, made this statement in a written response to a Rajya Sabha question. The PM-KUSUM Scheme has been extended through March 31, 2026, he added.
4. Madhya Pradesh remains a tiger state with 785 big cats.
◉ According to a census released on International Tiger Day by the Corbett Tiger Reserve, Uttarakhand, Madhya Pradesh has maintained its reputation as the “tiger state,” having recorded 785 big cats.
◉ Despite having the most tiger deaths, the state’s tiger population surged by 49%, making it the largest in India. 278 tiger deaths were recorded in Madhya Pradesh between 2012 and 2022.
◉ While 222 tigers were discovered outside the protected regions in Madhya Pradesh, 563 tigers were discovered in six tiger reserves. Madhya Pradesh had 526 tigers in 2018, just two more than Karnataka.
5. The ‘Amrit Brikshya Andolan’ app is introduced by Assam CM Himanta Biswa Sarma.

◉ An American Indian Shohini Sinha, a special agent in charge of the FBI field office in Salt Lake City, in the US state of Utah, has a reputation for her work on counterterrorism investigations.
◉ FBI Director Christopher Wray appointed Sinha as the lead special agent. Most recently, Sinha worked as the executive special assistant to the director at FBI Headquarters in Washington, DC.

◉ The FALCON Shield-2023 training is designed to improve trust and understanding between the two militaries while deepening practical exchanges and collaboration.
◉ China and the UAE are cooperating on training months after the UAE committed to purchasing five L-15 advanced training aircraft from China.
◉ For deployment on its Wing Loong 2 fleet, the UAE purchased Blue Arrow 7 anti-tank missiles from China in 2017, according to the study, which used the Stockholm International Peace Research Institute as a source.
