1. Tokhu Emong Bird Count was organized by Nagaland.
◉ Objective – To raise awareness of Nagaland’s bird variety through the first edition of the Tokhu Emong Bird Count (TEBC).
◉ The Wokha Forest Division and the Divisional Management Unit, Nagaland Forest Management ◉ Project (NFMP), Wokha, and Bird Count India collaborated on this event.

2. The President of Guyana will be the chief guest during the 17th Pravasi Bharatiya Divas. Dr. ◉ Mohamed Irfaan Ali, President of Guyana, will be the chief guest at the 17th Pravasi Bharatiya Diva Convention, which will be held in Indore, Madhya Pradesh, from January 8 to 10, 2023.
◉ Zaneta Mascarenhas, Member of Parliament for Australia, will be the guest of honor for the Youth Pravasi Bharatiya Divas on January 8, 2023.
◉ The topic of the 17th Pravasi Bharatiya Divas is Diaspora: Reliable Partners for India’s Progress in Amrit Kaal. The Pravasi Bharatiya Divas is held every two years to increase the abroad Indian community’s involvement with the Government of India and reconnect them with their heritage.

3. Dr. K. Radhakrishnan chairs a panel for Higher Educational Institutions at the Centre.
◉The Center has formed a high-level team to improve the assessment and certification of higher education institutions.
◉The group was created under the chairmanship of K Radhakrishnan, chairperson of IIT Kanpur’s Board of Governors. He also serves as the chair of the IIT Council Standing Committee.
◉In addition, the group will create a road plan for the National Accreditation Council, which is envisioned in the National Education Policy 2020.

4. The Uttarakhand Chief Minister introduced the Lakhpati Didi Yojana.
◉Uttarakhand The ‘Lakhpati Didi’ fair has been inaugurated at the survey of India Maidan, Hathbarkala in Dehradun by Chief Minister Pushkar Singh Dhami.
◉The Uttarakhand government’s Rural Development department is planning to make 1.25 lakh women from self-help groups ‘lakhpatis’ (earners of more than Rs 1 lakh) by 2025.
◉ As part of the ‘Vision 2025’ project, Uttarakhand will commemorate the state’s silver jubilee year by working to make 1.25 lakh sisters of the state lakhpati didis.

5. By 2041, Mathura-Vrindavan will be a carbon-neutral tourist destination.
◉ The state of Uttar Pradesh intends to make Mathura-Vrindavan, one of India’s most important pilgrimage sites, a ‘net zero carbon emission’ tourism destination by 2041.
◉ This means that tourist vehicles will be prohibited in the whole Braj region, which includes well-known pilgrimage sites like Vrindavan and Krishna Janmabhoomi.
◉ Instead, only electric vehicles utilized for public transportation will be permitted.
◉ All 252 bodies of water and 24 woodlands in the area will also be restored.
◉ An inland water system and a narrow-gauge railway line will also connect the eight main cities of Mathura, Vrindavan, Gokul, Barsana, Baldeo, Gokul, Nandgaon, Govardhan, and Mahavan.

6. In October, Russia overtook Saudi Arabia as India’s main oil supplier.
◉ According to Vortexa (Energy Cargo Tracker), Russia has overcome Saudi Arabia and Iraq to become India’s top oil suppliers in October 2022.
◉ Russia now delivers about 22% of India’s total oil imports, ahead of Iraq (20.5%) and Saudi Arabia (16%).
◉ In October, Russia provided 9,35,556 barrels per day of crude oil to India, which imported 0.2% of the total oil purchased by India in March 2022. (highest ever).
◉ Iraq was the biggest oil provider in June 2022, with Russia coming in second.

◉ The platform for education technology BYJU has named footballer Lionel Messi as the first global brand ambassador of their social impact arm, ‘Education For All.’
◉ Messi, the captain of Argentina’s football team and a player for Paris Saint-Germain, has inked a deal with BYJU’S to support the cause of fair education.
◉ That is the type of opportunity BYJU’s Education For All (EFA) program seeks to provide for the almost 5.5 million children it now serves.

8. Asian Hockey Federation (AHF) CEO Mohammad Tayyab Ikram (Macau) has been elected as the new president of the International Hockey Federation (FIH) for a two-year term.
◉ He is the full-time successor to Narinder Batra (India).
◉ In the 48th FIH Congress, he defeated Marc Coudron (Belgium).
◉ Batra was elected president of the FIH in 2016 but resigned in July.

9. Amit Dasgupta has been appointed to the Order of Australia.
◉ For his contributions to the Australia-India bilateral relationship, Amit Dasgupta has been named an Honorary Member in the General Division of the Order of Australia (AM).
◉ From 2009 until 2012, he was India’s Consul-General in Sydney.

◉ Suryakumar Yadav of India has become the first Indian and the second player in history to achieve 1,000 T20 International runs in a calendar year.
◉ Suryakumar has 1,026 runs scored at a 44.60 average in 28 innings this season. His bat has delivered 109 half-centuries, with the highest score of 117. These runs had a strike rate of 186.24.
◉ He accomplished this accomplishment in Melbourne during the last Super 12 stage match against Zimbabwe.
◉ He has scored 61 runs off 25 balls, with six fours and four sixes.

12. Infant Protection Day is observed on November 7th.

◉ The goal is to raise awareness about the steps that must be taken to save baby lives and provide adequate protection and care.

◉ Shyam Saran Negi, the first voter in independent India, died recently at the age of 106 in Kinnaur, Himachal Pradesh.

◉ He was a part of the polling team in 1951 and recalls casting his first ballot in the Shonthong polling station.
