Meaning (Odia): ଏକ କଥିତ ଶବ୍ଦ, ବକ୍ତବ୍ୟ, କିମ୍ବା କଣ୍ଠସ୍ୱର |

Use: She has one great fear to which she will never give utterance.

Synonyms: remark, comment


3-Redundancy


Part of Speech: Noun

Meaning (English): the state of being not or no longer needed or useful.

Meaning (Odia): ଆବଶ୍ୟକତା ନାହିଁ କିମ୍ବା ଆଉ ଆବଶ୍ୟକ ନାହିଁ କିମ୍ବା ଉପଯୋଗୀ ନୁହେଁ |

Use: Redundancy notices have been sent to 200 workers.

Synonyms: purposeless, useless


4-Pontificating


Part of Speech: Verb

Meaning (English): express one’s opinions in a way considered annoyingly pompous and dogmatic.

Meaning (Odia): ବୁଝାଇବା

Use:  I know because I have spent almost four years pontificating about safety and car accidents.

Synonyms: expound, declaim

Antonyms: humble, lowly


5-Transpired


Part of Speech: Verb

Meaning (English): as in happened; to take place

Meaning (Odia): ଯେପରି ଘଟିଥିଲା ହେବାକୁ

Use: Everything that has transpired in this room has been recorded.

Synonyms: happen, occur


6-Parole


Part of Speech: Noun

Meaning (English): permission given to a prisoner to leave prison before the end of a sentence usually as a reward for behaving well

Meaning (Odia): କଏଦୀଙ୍କୁ ଦଣ୍ଡ ଶେଷ ହେବା ପୂର୍ବରୁ ଜେଲ ଛାଡିବାକୁ ଦିଆଯାଇଥିବା ଅନୁମତି  |

Use: He was released on parole after serving two years.

Synonyms: pardon, exoneration

Antonyms: conviction, assessment


7-Boomeranged


Part of Speech: Verb

Meaning (English): (of a plan or action) return to the originator, often with negative consequences.

Meaning (Odia): ପୁନର୍ବାର

Use: The scheme boomeranged in both countries.

Synonyms: reverse, rebound

Antonyms: succeeded, flourished


8-Pleasantry


Part of Speech: Noun

Meaning (English): an act or utterance that is a customary show of good manners

Meaning (Odia): ଅଙ୍ଗଭଙ୍ଗୀ |

Use: The children smiled politely at the visitor’s pleasantries.

Synonyms: gesture, courtesy


9-Libel


Part of Speech: Noun

Meaning (English): a published false statement that is damaging to a person’s reputation; a written defamation.

Meaning (Odia): ଏକ ପ୍ରକାଶିତ ମିଥ୍ୟା ବିବୃତ୍ତି ଯାହା ବ୍ୟକ୍ତିର ପ୍ରତିଷ୍ଠା ପାଇଁ କ୍ଷତିକାରକ; ଲିଖିତ ବଦନାମ |

Antonyms: praise, respect
